Each serving is 460cal/26g fat/15g sat fat!! Much worse than a store bought poptart. It's that buttery delicious crust!! I'm going to try these again with a piecrust recipe I use often that has less butter. I'll give it another go, the pastry was nice but not particularly flaky when I changed it :) I converted it all to grams (I'm in the UK) so god knows what it was. It's not a typical shortcrust pastry, it should be a very buttery, flaky pastry. Possibly you needed a bit more flour, measuring flour in cups can be notoriously inconsistent.Stephcookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13287192870684938203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1455891724757786007.post-33376648578838123042012-05-21T07:45:56.190+10:002012-05-21T07:45:56.190+10:00I made these tonight, they're in the oven now ...I made these tonight, they're in the oven now and I'm so excited for them to come out so I can try them! :D One thing I did notice though when I made them, was that there was WAY too much butter, and I had to add a fair bit of flour and stuff to balance it out - I wondered if the recipe was meant to be 125g rather than 225? Because usually in shortcrust pastry the ratio of fat to flour is 1:2. Shut me up if I'm wrong, haha!
