I wasn't brave enough to attempt a checkerboard cake just yet, so I used your purple ombré cake recipe with the white chocolate ganache and the awesome Milo ganache. Nowhere near as professional-looking as yours, but I was pretty thrilled with it and it tastes amazing!
http://distilleryimage2.instagram.com/5af7523ab43911e18cf91231380fd29b_7.jpgJessnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1455891724757786007.post-24872990297961664622012-06-01T04:44:02.365+10:002012-06-01T04:44:02.365+10:00Wow all your desserts are so incredibly beautiful!...Wow all your desserts are so incredibly beautiful! And I was running out the door, so was desperately trying to chill the ganache so it wouldn't run off the cake. I think the leftover ganache has set like a rock in the fridge overnight. Maybe I'll give it another shot next year.
PS told everyone about this blog! If you had asked me I definitely wouldn't have recommended using packet cake mix, I specifically use my particular yellow cake recipe because it can handle this kind of layering and cutting. And you may have needed to let the ganache chill for longer so it was thick enough to be spread over the cake. But it's really great you gave it a go!Stephcookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13287192870684938203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1455891724757786007.post-8336555048173955432012-01-26T22:40:10.197+11:002012-01-26T22:40:10.197+11:00So I tried this for Australia day..
